Interested in becoming a host family?
What do you need host families for?
Every summer, college ballplayers come from around the country to play for the Navigators. We have players from as far away as Texas, Florida, Arizona, and everywhere in between. They come here for baseball, but host families are their families away from home. Many of them have not been to the area before, and having local families to stay with and get to know helps them feel at ease in a new environment.
What would we need to provide the player with?
He would need a bed, as well as breakfast and a packed lunch on most days.
What are the benefits?
Not only would the host family get season tickets, but you would get the experience of sharing your home with a young athlete who might just make it to the Majors one day. Many past host families have built a lasting relationship with their player(s), and still keep in touch years after their season ends. It is truly a unique and wonderful experience, both for the player and the family, and the memories last a lifetime. We will also have Host Family Recognition Night during the season.
