Jon Cahill - Manager
Jon Cahill is the Navigators' manager, previously serving as the team's Director of Baseball Operations. He is a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (1996) and the Bridgton (ME) Academy in 1997. For his accomplishments at Peabody, Jon was voted the Greater Boston League Player of the Year.
He matriculated to UMASS Lowell where he made First Team All-American in 2001, as well as being named the school’s co-male athlete of the year (along with current NHL defenseman Ron Hainsey). He was also named the NE-10 Conference MVP as he led the Riverhawks to their first ever College World Series appearance.
He played professionally for 5 seasons -- 3 with the Anaheim Angels organization and 2 with the Washington Wild Things of the Independent Frontier League.
The middle infielder had the distinction of playing all 9 positions in the same game while a member of the Cedar Rapid Kernals in 2002. In 2004, he was a Frontier League All-Star and was named to the Wild Things All-Decade Team in 2012. In addition to his duties of recruiting and coaching for the Navigators, he also serves as the assistant baseball coach at Endicott College in Beverly, MA.

Sam Grainger - Assistant Coach
Sam Grainger, a graduate of Clarkson University (New York), will serve as the Assistant Coach for the 2013 season. Grainger will work closely with the pitching staff as well as the catchers while with the Navigators. At Clarkson University, Grainger, who was considered as a defensive-minded catcher, helped lead the Golden Knights to their first two NCAA regional appearances in school history in both 2009 and 2011. Grainger also finished his career with a .294 batting average, which combined with his defensive skills led him to being selected as a First-Team Liberty League All-Star. Grainger, a native of Bedford, Massachusetts, graduated from Bedford High School in 2006. During his time at Bedford High School, Grainger was a three year letter winner in both baseball and hockey. Grainger has also served as an assistant coach for Jim Kane at Clarkson University, as well as the Assistant Box Office Manager for the Golden Knights’ division one hockey team.
Drew Betts - Assistant Coach
Drew Betts is a graduate of Endicott College where he was a three year starter and senior captain. Throughout his four year career he hit just over .300 and ranks in the top 10 in career stolen bases. Currently Betts serves as an Athletic Director at Salem Academy in Salem, Massachusetts. There he has worked to help guide the athletic program to higher levels of performance. In addition to baseball, Betts also coaches basketball at Salem Academy. Betts is entering his first season with the North Shore Navigators.
