Navs Post Big Performances in Final Weekend of April College Baseball![]() LYNN, Mass. — Here are the latest college baseball highlights for incoming North Shore Navigators players: Although Penn State dropped its Big Ten series at No. 15 UCLA, Jesse Jaconski went 6-for-12 with two doubles, five RBI and a run scored over the three games. He bookended the weekend with multi-hit efforts, going 2-for-4 in a 7-6, walk-off loss on Friday before doubling twice and hitting an RBI single as part of a 3-for-5 Sunday finish. For the season, Jaconski’s 46 RBI are just one off the Nittany Lion lead and his .313 average is also second on the team. On the infield, Todd Clay (UAB) went off to secure the Blazers’ AAC series win against Rice on Saturday. He compiled his sixth game this season with at least three hits, going 4-for-5 with two doubles while knocking in two runs and scoring two of his own. He also added a stolen base. Clay remains atop the UAB leaderboard in numerous categories, including average (.367), OPS (1.009) and RBI (42). Benjamin Rehkow and Ethan Wilson (Winthrop) were back at it again, as the reliever and the outfielder helped the Eagles go 3-1 last week, including a sweep over Big South foe Longwood. Rehkow was busy out of the bullpen, throwing in three of the four games the Eagles played. He combined to pitch 4.2 innings, striking out five and only allowing one run to lower his season ERA to 2.08. Wilson picked up his eighth homer of the season in the midweek defeat against Davidson and also went 3-for-6 at the plate on Saturday as Winthrop won a 20-10 shootout. Marc Willi (Massachusetts) had himself another strong week, leaving the yard twice to bring his season home run total to five. The sophomore first baseman’s second round-tripper of the weekend came at an opportune time, as he launched a grand slam in the middle of an eight-run first inning in Sunday’s 16-3 win over George Washington. The victory in that game went to fellow Navigators newcomer and St. John’s Prep grad Sam Belliveau, who worked a seven-inning complete game. Belliveau returned from injury a few weeks into the season back in March and has now worked at least five frames in three straight starts. Owen Galt (Louisiana) had an impact in both weekend victories for the Ragin’ Cajuns against Georgia Southern. Galt legged out his first triple of the season and scored a run in a 4-1 Friday win. Then, on Saturday, he had two knocks in a 7-3 contest, extending his hitting streak to six games before it was snapped on Sunday. Galt is hitting .292 in 116 at-bats in his freshman season. At the NJCAA level, Brody Dalton (St. Johns River State) will be the first Navigator to play postseason baseball this spring. He ended his regular season in style by smashing his 18th home run in his team’s 9-1 victory over South Florida State, which is the same team that the Vikings will play to begin the upcoming regional bracket of the NJCAA Division 2 Championship. Dalton enters the postseason slashing .339/.440/.698 with 18 homers, 15 doubles and 55 RBI. Stonehill pulled off a Northeast Conference weekend sweep of Delaware State with the help of two incoming Navigators. Sam Parks continued his on-base prowess with three hits, including a double and a triple, six walks, five RBI and seven runs scored during the series. Parks was 2-for-3 with a two-run double, four total RBI and two runs scored in the Skyhawks’ series-capping, 26-10 win on Sunday. Aidan Sengenberger recorded hits and crossed the plate a total of five times across the final two games of the set. Returning to the mound, Ryan Mealy (Monmouth) just keeps on pitching. Facing one of the hottest teams in the country and the first-place team in the CAA on Sunday, Mealy was given the ball and asked to shut down a talented Northeastern lineup. While the Hawks ended up losing 8-5 in 11 innings, the righty worked seven strong innings, keeping his team in the ballgame and only allowing one earned run. Mealy’s season ERA is now lowered to 2.55, as his freshman campaign continues to get better and better. Speaking of Northeastern, the Huskies have now rattled off 12 straight wins and claimed all six of their conference series. Recent Navigator addition Joseph Hauser was called upon out of a deep bullpen this past weekend, striking out the only batter he faced to close out a 10-0 victory in Friday’s series opener in New Jersey. Also in the bullpen, Oisin Lee (Notre Dame) pitched a clean ninth inning to cap off the first game of the Fighting Irish’s ACC sweep of Cal. He struck out two of the three batters he faced to finalize an 8-1 win on Friday. After making his first start the weekend prior, Cole Yennaco (Merrimack) pitched 3.1 shutout innings in Sunday’s MAAC series finale against Saint Peter’s, allowing just one hit while striking out a pair. It was a career-long outing for the sophomore. In Division 3, Jack Gold (Pomona-Pitzer) continued performing as one of the top hitters in the country, connecting for his 15th homer of the season and scoring three runs in an 18-1 Sunday win over Cal Lutheran. Gold recorded an RBI in each of the Sagehens’ three games and now has 46 in just 30 games this spring, while his .933 slugging percentage is fourth among national qualifiers. Trey Yesu (Bridgewater State) returned to the win column with eight innings of one-run ball on Friday in a 9-1 win at MCLA. Yesu struck out eight and did not walk a batter for the third time in his last five starts. The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 18th summer collegiate season in 2025, with first pitch set for Tuesday, June 3 against the Northern Division rival Upper Valley Nighthawks.
